Scenes from Macy’s
The whole family went to Macy’s tonight to help Mommy find a dress for my friend Mitra’s ordination tomorrow afternoon. Travis took the boys on an extended tour of the furniture department so I could look for a dress in peace. I took my choices into the closest dressing room, which was a huge family dressing room. From the dressing room with the door closed, I could hear the very LOUD chatter of an excited little boy. I opened the door and looked out and of course it was Cash. He was about 50 yards away chattering up a storm about everything he saw in the store. He hasn’t really gotten the concept of an "inside voice" down yet. I waved to Travis and he and the boys came into the dressing room so Travis could help me decide between two dresses. The dresses had tank top straps and built-in bras so I took my bra off to try them on. Cash grabbed both my boobs and asked in his NOT-so-inside voice, "What are these Mommy?" I told them that they were Mommy’s breasts. "What do they do?" he yelled. I explained to him that they are for feeding babies. "Can I see your breasteses Daddy?" he yelled, turning towards Travis. Travis reluctantly lifted up his shirt. "YOUR BREASTESES ARE SMALL DADDY AND MOMMY’S BREASTESES ARE BIG!!" Cash yelled with delight. I think that the entire first floor of Macy’s could hear him, but I don’t know for sure since I couldn’t look anyone in the eye as we departed the dressing room.
We headed to the shoe department next so I could pick out shoes for my dress. The shoes are right next to the hats:
We all survived the ordeal and I actually picked out a dress and matching shoes in under an hour. A new personal best!
