Windows, er, Windmills of My Mind

The boys and I were listening to the oldies station while driving this morning when "Summer Breeze" by Seals and Croft came on. As the words, "See the curtains hanging in the window…" came over the speaker Cash said, "Hey, this song is about windows!", happy that he could relate to something in a grown-up song. "Yep, it sure is," I replied. "Is it about drive-thru windows?", Cash wanted to know. Well, I don't really know what the song it about, I've never listened that closely. But it kind of reminds me of that other song about windmills in your mind so I told him that it was not about drive-thru windows but about windows in the singer's mind. "Is his mind a building?", Cash asked, confused. "No, his mind isn't a building. His mind is his imagination." Symbolism is lost on four-year olds, but nevertheless Cash replied, "Oh, my imagination is called a kind." Well, then I see why you were confused sweetie.
